MORE DEEP THOUGHTS

- In winter, why do we try to keep the house as warm as it was in summer when we complained about the heat?

(And my feet are cold all year round)

- Why do women always ask questions that have no right answers?

(Like this question?)

- Why do old men wear their pants higher than younger men?

(Simple, young men where their pants so low they hang around at their ankles. Old men would fall and break a hip if they did that)

- Why is it that inside every older person is a younger person wondering what the heck happened?

(I wouldn't know. I am still too young. I am also still in deep denial)

- If diamonds are a girl's best friend and a dog is man's best friend, who really is the dumber sex?

(This is obvious isn't it?)

- Why are the needy only thought of during the holidays? Aren't they just as needy throughout the rest of the year?

(Why are we only generous at holiday time? What does Scrooge do the rest of the year?)

- Why is it that men can react to broken bones as 'just a sprain' and deep wounds as 'just a scratch,' but when they get the sniffles they are deathly ill 'with the flu' and have to be bedridden for weeks?

(This is why Women have babies and men don't)

- How come we never hear any father-in-law jokes?

(Simply put, I like my father in law)

- Why do men forget everything and women remember everything?

( Like how to fill an ice cube tray)

- Do Chinese people get hungry an hour after they eat American food?

(What is Canadian food?)

- Shouldn't all married men forget their mistakes? After all there's no sense in two people remembering the same things right?

(Women remember their biggest mistake every time their husband makes another mistake.)

- Is the real reason women live longer then men because they don't have to live with women?

(The real reason is that all that dishwashing over the years has built up an amazing amount of defense against disease that would kill the a man)

- If at first you don't succeed, shouldn't you try doing it like your wife told you to?

(Well duh)

DEEP THOUGHTS

- Does a clean house indicate that there is a broken computer in it?

(In my house it does)

- Why is it that no matter what colour of bubble bath you use the bubbles are always white?

(and when your done, the water is always black)

- Is there ever a day when mattresses are NOT on sale?

(The day I want to buy one)

- Why do people constantly return to the refrigerator with the hopes that something new to eat will have materialized?

(I live with a teenage boy. I am making sure there still is a fridge left)

- Why do people keep running over a string a dozen times with their vacuum cleaner, then reach down, pick it up, examine it, then put it down to give their vacuum one more chance?

(Gee, it isn't like Cheerios. Those you can just squish with your shoe to make them easier to vacuum)

- How do those dead bugs get into closed light fixtures?

(Better question? How do the they get out?)

- Why do we wash BATH towels? Aren't we clean when we use them? If not then what was the purpose of the bath?

(See first explaination)

- Considering all the lint you get in your dryer, if you kept drying your clothes would they eventually just disappear?

(That would reduce the amount of dirty laundry I would have)

- When we are in the supermarket and someone rams our ankle with a shopping cart then apologizes for doing so, why do we say 'It's all right'? It isn't all right, so why don't we say, 'That hurt, you stupid idiot?'

( You don't say it is all right when they run into you with a car. What is the difference with a cart. I had a woman run over my already broken toe with her cart once)

- Why is it that whenever you attempt to catch something that's falling off the table you always manage to knock something else over?

(People actually try to catch the falling item? I am usually running for a towel to clean up either the blood or the liquid that will inevitably be spilt)

- Is it true that the only difference between a yard sale and a trash pickup is how close to the road the stuff is placed?

(They don't call us White Trash for nothing)

FUCK YOU ! FRIDAYS

WARNING!!! BITCH SPASMS MAY OCCUR!!!! UH OH, HERE COMES ONE NOW!!

I am so fricking miserable today. I am pissed at the world. No one in this house will lift a gd finger to help around here. I am so fed up. The kids are suppossed to do the dishes every night. I don't think they have done them in three weeks. Granted we are busy on baseball nights, and I will do them those nights but the rest of the nights there is no excuse. All I hear is " it's not my night" . I know I should be pushing them to do it anyway but I am so tired of nagging everyone to do things. We have those ridiculous European cabniets in the kitchen. I hate them. The screws always come loose and then the door falls off. Yesterday, the door fell off one of the higher ones. Being a vertically challenged person, putting the door back on by myself is difficult. I asked the adult male in this house to help me. He didn't have time before baseball and after was "too tired". I complained this morning and I was told it is not that hard, you can do it yourself. FUCK OFF!

My daughters belong to this stupid girls club. It is a service group an aquantance of mine runs. I let the girls join as a favor to her. Had I known what I was getting into, I wouldn't have. It is costing me an arm and a leg. Every time I turn around, they need more money for something else. They are always fundraising. Last night I get a call, they have been volunteered to help with " Take Pride Winnipeg". Basically, I have to get up early Saturday drive them across the city so we can pick up garbage for two fucking hours, then drive them home. Just how I want to spend my Saturday. Plus as a bonus, we meet just after my favorite intersection. It is affectionately called " Confusion Corner". I hate driving at the best of times. I REALLY hate driving at that end of the city.

Then my daughter has a ball practice on sunday at six. Yes we have a ball practice on Mother's Day. The adult male in the house is already complaining about it. Guess what that means? Yup, it will mean I get to take her to it. Oh joy. Not only do I get to nag my son to pack for the camp he leaves for on Monday at 8, cook, do the laundry, and clean, I now get to add ball practice to it. I really want to sit there on Mother's day and listen to one parent tell me that my daughter sucks at baseball and his wife tell all of us what patterns she likes to shave her body hair in. Oh yes, can you picture a better Mother's day. How lucky am I .

Next bitch... My sister in laws birthday was last Saturday. I am the one who buys her present, wraps it, and drops it off at her house. Do I ever get a thank you? NOpe. Sometimes she will phone her brother at work and thank him for buying his sister a wonderful present. Then she will call her other sister and tell her all about the present HER BROTHER bought for her. Once, my other sister in law pointed out to her that it was me who does it. She argued with her. Whatever. Anyway, I get a little pissed off and really don't want to take the time to buy her presents anymore. This year she is running in the weekend to end Breast Cancer. A noble cause of course. However, I am getting calls and letters from her and her parents telling me to give her money for this. They even sent a letter to my parents asking for money. I don't have two nickels to rub together right now. Car insurance, mortagage, property taxes, fees for camp, and car payments are all this month. Sure I have extra money laying around. Anyway, for her birthday, I bought her a card and wrote her a cheque for her race. We didn't even get a thank you. Now I am really pissed. Next year, I am not even sending a card. If h er brother wants to remember her birthday, he can. I am not.

Basically, I am stressed and grouchy. Then I read things that other people are going through and I feel so selfish. Please take some time and go see Melissa and give her your good thoughts. Her husband leaves on Saturday, and will miss the birth of their child. She has alot on her plate and could use your good wishes.

I think my bitch spasms have ended for today. Thanks for tuning in. Have a great Fuck You! Friday and let us know if you played along.

RETURN OF JETS PART??????

It is election time here in Manitoba. In my opinion so far, it has been a quiet campaign. Judging by the election propaganda I have recieved, not even the candidates are interested in it. The election is now two weeks away. So far I have recieved flyers from two candidates and visits from no one.

Today the Conservatives dropped a bombshell. If elected they will bring back the Winnipeg Jets. The Jets leaving Winnipeg is still an open sore here. We try to move on then something drags us back again. First it was the "Save the Jets" campaign, then the demolition of the old arena. While I would love to see the Jets back, I don't see it realistically happening. It was an interesting political move though. Especially when Hugh McFadden brought Thomas Steen (a former Jet and fan favorite) to his announcement. I am interested to see how this plays out. I will keep you updated. If you want, you can read the http://winnipegsun.com/News/ProvElection/2007/05/07/4160682.htmla>article

THIS IS WHY I DON'T FLY

Hippopotamus, New York

A woman called to make reservations "I want to go from Chicago to Hippopotamus, New York" The agent was at a loss for words. Finally, the agent asked "Are you sure that's the name of the town?"

"Yes, what flights do you have?" replied the customer.

After some searching, the agent came back with "I'm sorry, ma'am, I've looked up every airport code in the country and can't find a Hippopotamus anywhere."

The customer retorted, "Oh don't be silly! Everyone knows where it is. Check your map!" The agent scoured a map of the state of New York and finally offered.

"You don't mean Buffalo, do you?" "That's it! I knew it was a big animal" was the reply.

It's Fuck You ! Friday Again

The human's capacity for stupidity never ceased to amaze me. Take today's little story for example.

Spring has finally arrived! With Spring comes the annual City clean up. The city has issued notices that street cleaning would be starting on Sunday. It is now Friday, so everyone has had plenty of notice. The no parking signs went up on our street after supper last night. There was to be no parking on our street from 8 AM until 5PM today. This shouldn't be a problem. WRONG WRONG WRONG!

On the way to drop kids off at school this morning there was a car being towed. The driver failed to heed the no parking signs. I then had to walk to the bank. When I got back about an hour later, there were two more cars parked on our street. These cars were pretty much parked in front of the no parking signs. They had already been ticketed and the tow truck was there to move them. The tow truck driver had hooked one car up and was then knocking on doors to find the owner. When no one answered, he climbed into the truck and began honking. I thought he was being very generous giving that much notice that your car was being towed. Finally the owners come running out of their homes to retrieve their cars. Along with their tickets. While this is going on, another car pulls up. He parks between the two tow truck and takes his coffee and goes into a house. I wanted to ask him if his lobotomy had been performed recently. Some people are just too stupid to inhale oxygen. To those people, I offer this week's FUCK YOU! I hope you all have a great weekend. Now fuck off!

THE PROCRASTINATOR'S CREED

The Procrastinator's Creed 1. I believe that if anything is worth doing, it would have been done already.

2. I shall never move quickly, except to avoid more work or find excuses.

3. I will never rush into a job without a lifetime of consideration.

4. I shall meet all of my deadlines directly in proportion to the amount of bodily injury I could expect to receive from missing them.

5. I firmly believe that tomorrow holds the possibility for new technologies, astounding discoveries, and a reprieve from my obligations.

6. I truly believe that all deadlines are unreasonable regardless of the amount of time given.

7. I shall never forget that the probability of a miracle, though infinitesmally small, is not exactly zero.

8. If at first I don't succeed, there is always next year.

9. I shall always decide not to decide, unless of course I decide to change my mind.

10. I shall always begin, start, initiate, take the first step, and/or write the first word, when I get around to it.

11. I obey the law of inverse excuses which demands that the greater the task to be done, the more insignificant the work that must be done prior to beginning the greater task.

12. I know that the work cycle is not plan-start-finish, but is wait-plan-plan.

13. I will never put off until tomorrow, what I can forget about forever.

14. I will become a member of the ancient Order of Two-Headed Turtles (the Procrastinator's Society) if they ever get it organized.

At least I finally filed my income tax.

ZZZZZZ...

I am feeling really strange today. (I know I am usually strange, but this is different). The doctor gave me stronger meds to help me sleep. One tiny problem. They don't work. I take them at bedtime and they don't kick in til about 4:00am. Then the next day, I feel sleepy and I have the shakes. I can't think straight. Hell, I can't even type. You have no idea how long this took me to type. I think I will give up on the meds. That might mean I have to give up sleeping altogether though.

On the good news front, I have come to the conclusion that moving schools was the best thing for my girls. Yesterday when I picked them up, my daughter said her day was "wonderful"> When I asked her what was wonderful about it, she said nothing special it was just a good day. My other daughter said she had a good day too. Woo HOO! I heard through the grapevine that since my girls left the school, three more left too and one parent had it out with the gym teacher on the playground. About time someone put her in her place. I feel good about the choice we made to move. I hope it continues.

To the rest of you who are struggling with various troubles lately, my thoughts are with you all. Hang in there.

THE THINGS KIDS SAY

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!

Things were good here. Busy as usual. My favorite cousin and her girls came for Easter dinner. I always have a good time with her.

I was reading Al's blog about his conversation with the Rayman, between that post and spending time with my cousin I remembered a story my Aunt told me.

My Aunt was a teacher for many years. She is a very proper, church going lady. I don't think she has ever said a bad word, drank, or smoked in her life. One day a little boy came in from recess.. we will call him Billy.

Billy: Mrs. G, Tommy said a bad word.

Mrs. G: What did he say, Tommy?

Billy: He said "THE R WORD!!!"

Now keep in mind we are talking about a very proper woman here. She quickly ran down a list of all the bad words she could think of but could not come up the dreaded "R" word. Finally she had to give up.

Mrs. G: I am sorry Billy, I don't think I know the "R" word. You are going to have to tell me the word.

Are your ready for this?

Are you sure?

Have you gone through all the swear words you can think of?

Billy: He said "ARSE".

My poor Aunt didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

Another day, Another meltdown courtesy of my daughter. I thought things were getting better. She seemed happier. I don't get " Don't make me go to school. Please Mom! Don't make me go". Silly me, I thought that meant things were turning around. It is all back with a vengance. We saw the Pychologist. She didn't see any problems with her. She told us she was a tomboy who had some issues with letter and number formaition. She said she would grown out of it all. Great $950 to be told exactly what we already knew. That was money well spent. If there are no problems, then why is she acting this way? What is setting her off like that? We have watched her diet, sleep patterns, friends, and everything else we can think of. There is no pattern to it. Not related to moon cycles, time of the month, or the tides. It is not related to the weather. I give up. I am sooo tired. I don't know if I can keep this up much more. It just beats you down. Sometimes I think she would be better off without me. She would be better with someone who can figure out, what the hell is going on. We have been to so many doctors. No one has any answers. Maybe it is just bad parenting. I just don't know anymore. The fight has gone out of me. I just can't do it anymore. Meds don't help. If they up my meds anymore, I will be comotose (hmmm maybe not a bad idea). I just can't go on anymore. The effort to put one foot in front of the other is just too much. I can't do it. Stick a fork in me. I am done.

Two Trouble Makers

A couple had two little mischievous boys, ages 8 and 10. They were always getting into trouble, and their parents knew that if any mischief occurred in their town, their sons would get the blame.

The boys' mother heard that a clergyman in town had been successful in disciplining children, so she asked if he would speak with her boys. The clergyman agreed and asked to see them individually.

So, the mother sent her 8-year-old first, in the morning, with the older boy to see the clergyman in the afternoon.

The clergyman, a huge man with a booming voice, sat the younger boy down and asked him sternly, "Where is God?"

They boy's mouth dropped open, but he made no response, sitting there with his mouth hanging open.

The clergyman repeated the question. "Where is God?"

Again, the boy made no attempt to answer.

So, the clergyman raised his voice some more and shook his finger in the boy's face and bellowed, "Where is God!?"

The boy screamed and bolted from the room. He ran directly home and dove into his closet, slamming the door behind him.

When his older brother found him in the closet, he asked, "What happened?"

The younger brother, gasping for breath, replied: "We are in real BIG trouble this time! God is missing, and they think we did it!"

FUCK YOU ! FRIDAYS

FU Friday winner.

It was a close contest this week people. Spring Break from school started out as a strong contender. The kids being home all week fighting and generally driving me crazy looked like they had a chokehold on being the champion this week. However, Computer troubles knocked the contender out. My stupid computer is so slow this week. I can type a sentence go get a cup of coffee and come back and my sentence is just appearing on the screen. AAARRRRGGGG!!!! I have tried numerous virus scans but nothing is coming up. I am ready to put my foot through it.

We also had a comback kid this week. Yes, our old friend Death made a surprise visit this week. My son's favoite teacher succumed to Cancer this week. This onderful lady taught my son in grade 2. His class was her last one before she retired. She was the consumate teacher right til the end. She passed away during Spring Break. I guess even in death she didn't want to disrupt the school year. Then my friend let me know that her Grandfather passed away this week too. The good news was she was able to see him before he passed away.

The next competetor is a new one here. It is a tag team consisting of my teenager and my school. They were out in full force this week. My teenager has spent an ungodly amount of time of the phone since he has gotten his first girlfriend. Don't get me wrong. I like her. She has spunk. (The last day of school before spring break, she was suspended for punching a kid in the nose. His crime? He kept calling her fat.) However when my son is talking to her, he refuses to answer any other incoming call. My school called to tell me they cancelled my class that was to start next week. By the time I realized there was a message and the importance of it, the office is closed until Monday. What do you think the chances are of me getting transferred into a class that isn't full on Monday considering the classes start again on MOnday. Can you say "Not impressed?" When I left a message for his Dad complaining about it, he called home to talk to me about it. The boy was on the phone (again). His Dad told him to hang up the phone. He meant get off the phone with his girlfriend. The boy thought he meant to hang up right away, so he did. He promptly hung up on his Dad. So I was royally pissed at the boy for not getting the message to me right away and I was ticked at the school for waiting til the last day to inform me that my class was cancelled. After all, I did register for it over 2 weeks ago.

The weather here was also in contention to be the winner. It was beautiful on Monday. It has gone downhill from there. It is -14C here today. It is supposed to be SPRING!!!! I had started to pack away the mitts and winter coats only to have to pull them out again. When will spring arrive?

However, this week's winner is a repeat champion from weeks past. It has made it's triumphant return in all it's stinky, messy, abundant glory. Yes folks, this week's FUCK YOU goes to ......

MY FAVORITE AND YOURS.... LAUNDRY!

Yes, after having a housefull of children surrounded by mud and teenagers, Laundry has taken over the basement and is climbing up the stairs as we speak. So to my laundry that multiplies in the dark I offer a huge FUCK YOU! Now Fuck off and have a good weekend. Don't forget to let us know if you played along.Fuck

Another Sad Day

Zero to 200

A couple had been debating the purchase of a new auto for weeks. He wanted a new truck. She wanted a fast little sports-like car so she could zip through traffic around town. He would probably have settled on any beat up old truck, but everything she seemed to like was way out of their price range.

"Look!" she said. "I want something that goes from 0 to 200 in 4 seconds or less. And my birthday is coming up. You could surprise me."

So, for her birthday, he bought her a brand new bathroom scale.

Services will be at Downing Funeral Home on Monday the 12th. Due to the condition of the body, this will be a closed casket service. Please send your donations to the "Think Before You Say Things To Your Wife Foundation," Dallas, Texas.

Wacky Wednesday

I must confess I did not make this one up. I have seen it a few times in various emails. I felt like I needed a laugh today, so I thought I would share it with you all so you can get a much needed laugh too. Enjoy

Now that Vancouver has won the chance to host the 2010 Winter Olympics, these are some questions people the world over are asking! Believe it or not these questions about Canada were posted on an International Tourism Website. Obviously the answers are a joke but the questions were really asked.

Q: I have never seen it warm on Canadian TV, so how do the plants grow? (England)

A. We import all plants fully grown and then just sit around and watch them die.

Q: Will I be able to see Polar Bears in the street? (USA)

A: Depends on how much you've been drinking.

Q: I want to walk from Vancouver to Toronto -can I follow the Railroad tracks? (Sweden)

A: Sure, it's only Four thousand miles, take lots of water.

Q: Is it safe to run around in the bushes in Canada? (Sweden)

A: So it's true what they say about Swedes.

Q: It is imperative that I find the names and addresses of places to contact for a stuffed Beaver. (Italy)

A: Let's not touch this one.

Q: Are there any ATM's (cash machines) in Canada? Can you send me a list of them in Toronto, Vancouver, Edmonton and Halifax? (England)

A: What did your last slave die of?

Q: Can you give me some information about hippo racing in Canada? (USA)

A: A-fri-ca is the big triangle shaped continent south of Europe... Ca-na-da is that big country to your North...oh forget it. Sure, the hippo racing is every Tuesday night in Calgary Come naked.

Q: Which direction is North in Canada? (USA)

A: Face south and then turn 180 degrees Contact us when you get here and we'll send the rest of the directions.

Q: Can I bring cutlery into Canada? (England)

A: Why? Just use your fingers like we do.

Q: Can you send me the Vienna Boys' Choir schedule? (USA)

A: Aus-tri-a is that quaint little country bordering Ger-man-y, which is...oh forget it. Sure, the Vienna Boys Choir plays every Tuesday night in Vancouver and in Calgary, straight after the hippo races. Come naked.

Q: Do you have perfume in Canada? (Germany)

A: No, we don't stink.

Q: I have developed a new product that is the fountain of youth. Can you sell it in Canada? (USA)

A: Anywhere significant numbers of Americans gather.

Q: Can you tell me the regions in British Columbia where the female population is smaller than the male population? (Italy)

A: Yes, gay nightclubs

Q: Do you celebrate Thanksgiving in Canada? (USA)

A: Only at Thanksgiving.

Q: Are there supermarkets in Toronto and is milk available all year round? (Germany)

A: No, we are a peaceful civilization of Vegan hunter/gathers. Milk is illegal.

Q: I have a question about a famous animal in Canada, but I forget its name. It's a kind of big horse with horns. (USA)

A: It's called a Moose. They are tall and very violent. They roam the city streets eating the brains of anyone walking close to them. Spraying yourself with human urine before you go out walking will scare them off.

Q: Will I be able to speak English most places I go? (USA)

A: Yes, but you will have to learn it first.

DON'T MESS WITH MOMS

Mother's Wedding Dress

A couple was getting married, and it was only three days before the wedding. The bride calls her mother with some bad news. "Mom," she says, "I just found out that my fiance's mother has bought the exact same dress as you to wear to the wedding."

The bride's mother thinks for a minute. "Don't worry," she tells her daughter. "I'll just go and buy another dress to wear to the ceremony."

"But mother," says the bride, "that dress cost a fortune. What will you do with it? It's such a waste not to use it."

"Who said I won't use it?" her mother asked. "I'll just wear it to the rehearsal dinner."

SAD NEWS

What with all the sadness and trauma going on in the world at the moment, it is worth reflecting on the death of a very important person which almost went unnoticed last week.

Larry La Prise, the man who wrote the song "The Hokey Pokey" died peacefully at age 93.

The most traumatic part for his family was getting him into the coffin. They put his left leg in...

...and then the trouble started.

Bathroom Philosophers

Some ordinary folks become great philosophers when they are sitting alone in the bathroom stalls of the world contemplating life's problems. Here are a few gems.

Make love, not war. Heck, do both, get married! - Women's restroom. Bozeman, Montana

I've decided that to raise my grades I must lower my standards. - Houghton Library, Harvard University. Cambridge, Massachusetts.

It's hard to make a comeback when you haven't been anywhere. - Written on the back of a bus. Wickenburg, Arizona.

If voting could really change things, it would be illegal. - Revolution Books. New York, New York.

If pro is opposite of con, then what is the opposite of progress? Congress! - Men's restroom, House of Representatives. Washington, D.C.< P>

More Things I Have Learned

I learned something new this weekend. Don't go to a Gun and Militia show if you are royally pissed at your spouse. You might come home with something you will regret. On the plus side, I don't think my neighbor will be complaining about me anymore.

Never piss off a woman with a gun.

Céad Míle Failte...A hundred thousand welcomes

The Irish Claddagh Symbol is named for the Irish coastal town of Claddagh (pronounced "clah-dah"), where the ring design is attributed to an ancient local legend about a townsman kidnapped into slavery, who returns to present a ring to his true love. Claddagh rings are a traditional token of loyalty and friendship as well as romantic love. The Claddagh design usually appears on rings, but is now used on all sorts of items, from jewellry to napkins to family crests. The hands in the design represent friendship, the heart, love, and the crown, loyalty. Various traditions ascribe different meanings to the ring, depending on how it is worn- as a wedding ring, it is worn on the left hand, with the heart pointed inward. As an engagement ring, it is worn on the right hand, with the heart pointing inward; for friendship, it is worn on the right hand, heart turned outward.

I want one of these. Just to remind myself that I always have some true friends. Happy St. Patrick's Day!

As you slide down the banister of life, may the splinters never point in the wrong direction
Hee hee. Need I say more? Happy Fuck you Friday! Now Fuck off and have a great weekend.

Welcome to my insanity. Please keep your hands and feet inside at all times

No, I have not fallen off the face of the earth. Things have been slightly busy and extremely chaotic around here lately. To those of you who emailed, messaged, or called to check up on me, Thank you. We are all hanging in, but your thoughts and good wishes really helped me.

This is going to be a reaaalllly looonng post. I will try and give you all the thumbnail sketch of what has been going on here lately. I will start with the most recent and move backwards. Hang on, here we go.

Yesterday, we inherited a new member of our family. Mark, you are going to think we are crazy, but we got a kitten yesterday. Today he thinks I am playing a game when I type. He is trying to attack my fingers. The doctor suggested I get my daughter an animal she could be responsible for. Something that would help her feel good about herself. She didn't want a fish or something quiet. She wanted a kitten. Now my older cat is royally pissed off at all of us. Just what I need. Another moody animal to deal with. I hope this works for my girl.

On the weekend, we travelled to the big city of Thompson. (If you have never been there, that was sarcasm). It was an 8 hour bus ride one way. Trees are really pretty, but staring at them for 8 hours on a bus gets pretty dull quickly. We were travelling there because my daughter was competing in the Provincials for bowling. Her team recieved the Silver Medal. Not bad considering after the second game, they were in last place. It was nice to get away for a few days. I think I needed that.

Now onto the crazy stuff. You may remember that I had mentioned that my one daughter was being bullied. It has kind of snowballed since then. I ended up pulling my daughters out of their school and transferring them to another school. It seems crazy to move them with only 4 months left in the year, but it had to be done. Both girls seem so much happier now. I had forgotten ( or maybe it happened so slowly I didn't realize how unhappy my girls were) what it was like to live with happy children. It is so nice to pick them up from school and have them come out with smiles. It has been almost three weeks and I haven't heard " I don't want to go to school" once. Hooray!!

is It all just came to a head one evening and I said enough! and pulled them right then and there. Maybe you remember I did a favor for a friend. I had his daughter stay with us for a week while he was in Mexico for a wedding because his ex refused to take their daughter. It is true. No good deed goes unpunished. I am paying for that good deed. I got a vile letter from the mother. I was just going to ignore it but things got out of hand quickly. I guess my daughter went to school and said we were going to sue this girl's mom. (which wasn't true) Why my daughter said it, I don't know. Kids do stupid things. Anyway, this Mother flipped and sent an email to the school about it. The teacher then pulled my daughter out of class and confronted her about it. She denied knowing anything about it. (I felt the teacher should have called me. It is an adult situation) My daughter was hysterical when she got home. Her Dad called the school and asked them about it. They refused to show us the email but said it was all okay. Fine. The next day, my other daughter was in gym class. (I have never liked the gym teacher and this did not help) My former friend's daughter went to the teacher and said my girl was being mean to her. The teacher pulled my girl out of the class and yelled at her to stop being mean. When my girl started to cry and asked exactly what she had done wrong, the teacher said she didn't know, just stop being mean. I was furious. Her Dad made another call to the school. Again we were assured all was well. It went like this for another day. Then the other girl's father called me and went up one side of me and down the other. He went crazy over the whole suing thing.I tried to tell him it was just kids being stupid and to ignore it. That was the wrong thing to tell him. He went on about how rotten my girls are and how rotten of a parent I was. He called my kids the bullies and that he was going to get the principal to get them. He was acting insane. You couldn't reason with him. Now my girls are terrified of him. Keep in mind, the week before, we were perfectly good enough to take care of his daughter when he was in a jam. It was crazy. The next day, The principal pulled my girls out of class to ask them who their emergency contact person was. It is my Dad a fact she could have looked up on her computer and why she needed to know that, I have no idea. The girls were scared and confused. Hence another call to the school. We were again assured they were just checking in on the girls. 5:30 that night the girls told me that the principal had pulled them out of class later and made them applogize to the other girl. The principal NEVER mentioned this to us. This was the last straw. I saw red. I phoned the school and left a message saying enough was enough. My daughter's health was suffering and both girls hated school. They were being bullied, and intimadated by two students, a parent, the teachers and the principal. I told them that the girls would no longer be students of that school effective IMMEDIATELY! Of course, the next morning, she called and wanted to meet with the girls and us. I told her that I had two infants at home, I would have to ask my parents to drive 50 miles one way to come in and look after them in order to meet with her. I also told her since their Dad had missed so much time at work that week dealing with all of this that I wasn't sure he would be able to meet with her. She wanted us to bring the girls. We refused. I figured they had already done enough damage to them. They were not going to get another shot at them. We went in and met with the principal and the teacher. The principal said how shocked she was that the girls were that upset (HELLO?!?! Where the hell have you been?) We told her it didn't matter what they promised, the girls were not going back. The girl's dad also told her that we should have called the police after the first threat against my daughter. Since the school has done nothing. The principal and the teacher both said how good my girls were and how sorry they were to have them leave. They said they never had any trouble with them and it was a shame for us to leave since we have had kids in that school for 9 years. Basically we said tough luck. We are done. We left that meeting and went and registered the girls in a new school right away. So far, I am very impressed with the school. They are welcoming and when we registered, they gave us a form telling us exactly what their stance is on bullying. What steps they take to deal with it and what consequences there will be for anyone caught bullying. So far our experience has been nothing but positive. The only snag we have is how to get the girls to the school. We cannot find any daycare available close by and we can't get them on the school bus. I love this one. We can't bus them because they live too far away from the school. Well duh. That is why we need the bus. My friend has been watching them in the mornings and driving them to school for me. It is good to have friends you can count on. Anyway, the only solution we have come up with is that we now send them by taxi cab to school every morning and I pick them up after school. It is a little expensive, but it is the only way we can do it. The girls don't seem to mind, so all is good.

I bet you thought pulling the girls out would stop the problems with this former friend and his kid didn't you. Guess again. Last week I spoke to him. He was on another rampage. I guess the rumor around the school is that he is going after my kids. He is blaming my girls for that. I told him that it is true the girls are terrified of him and his crazy wife. He was telling me that I have to stop the rumors. I cannot control what other people say. I told him that the girls have only been in the school once to get their work to transfer to their new school. He told me they were talking to kids from the school and he wants it to stop. I told him that to ask the girls to not talk to their friend from the school is unreasonable. I told him that they already left the school and I didn't know what else I can do. He also said that my girls were the bullies in the school and my daughter was lying about being threated by the boy. Oh well. Funny how the Principal told us we weren't the first people to have trouble with this boy. Not much I can do. I have washed my hands of the whole business. My girls are happier and that is all that counts.

That has been my life in a nutshell. I hope everyone is doing well. I will try to get around to check on everyone. Take care all.

The betrays just keep adding up. More and more. I don't know how much more I can take. I am a woman on the edge. Everytime I turn around, I feel like I have to defend myself and my children from another sneak attack from people I thought I could trust. I think I will pull up the drawbridge to my life and lock my true self away... far from the world ... in a place where I cannot be hurt. If I trust no one, I cannot be disappointed.

TPB IN THE PEG

sing it with me.... cigarettes, and dope and, mustard, bologna, liquor and whores.

It occured to me that I didn't tell you all about the TPB concert. It wasn't bad. This video was taken from the balcony. We had floor seats. I swear the only original member of Helix is the lead singer. He now looks about 60. I am sorry, but when you reach a certain age, summersaults and spandex should not be in your repotoire anymore. Swollen Members is not really my kind of music, but they did a fantastic job of getting the crowd pumped. They really connect with their fans. I am sorry that we didn't see more of the TPB but what we did see, I really enjoyed. However, two days later, my daughter was asking her Dad why his jacket smelled funny. It has been a loonnngg time since I was at a concert with that much pot floating around.

Global warming

I am far from an expert on global warming but this makes as much sense to me as anything else I have heard lately. "According to a new U.N. report, the global warming outlook is much worse than originally predicted. Which is pretty bad when they originally predicted it would destroy the planet." --Jay Leno

Remberance

I am going to forgo the usual FU Friday post for something more important today.

This week our city is in mourning. We tragically lost two of our brave firefighters and have two more still in the hospital. This post is dedicated to the memory of Captain Harold Lessard and Captain Thomas Nichols. May they rest in peace.

A FIREFIGHTER'S PRAYER - AUTHOR UNKNOWN

When I am called to duty God.

Whenever flames may rage.

Give me the strength to save some life.

Whatever be its age.

Help me embrace a little child.

Before it is too late.

Or to save an older person from the horror of that fate.

Enable me to be alert,

And hear the weakest shout

And quickly and effieciently, to put the fire out.

I want to fill my calling and to give the best in me.

To guard my every neighbour and protect his property.

And if according to your will,

It is time to end my life,

Please bless with Your protecting hand my friends, my children and my wife.

Please take a few minutes to visit the City of Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service website and leave a message on their book of condolence. Please also consider making a contribution to your local Firefighter's Burn Fund in their memory.

> ........... 10% of women think their ass is too skinny...

> The other 65% say that they don't care either way; they love him, he's > a good man, and they would have married him anyway.

Women and Cats

Women and Cats I've never understood why women love cats. Cats are independent, they don't listen, they don't come in when you call, they like to stay out all night, and when they're home they like to be left alone and sleep. In other words, every quality that women hate in a man, they love in a cat.

Fuck you ! Fridays

It is that time of the week again. I don't have a picture for FU Friday. When you read where it is sent out to, you will understand.

I have run out of meds and my Doctor is on holidays til Feb 5th. I spent all day yesterday trying to get someone to give me a refill. No such luck. It drives me that you can't get a medically neccessary refil until your regular doctor returns. What am I supposed to do until then? Suffer I guess.

So I send out a big Fuck You to the messed up medical system.

My next one is a little more painful. I think of myself as a loyal friend. I will defend you to the end of the earth. BUT if you betray me or my trust, you are dead to me. I came home from school last night and found a letter in my mailbox. It was from the mother of the girl I am looking after for the week. She is bitching because I called her house twice and she wants me to stop. In truth, it was HER DAUGHTER calling to talk to her brother. Whatever. Then she goes on to say things that the girl's father had told her about me and my family. Things he was told in trust. I cannot believe he would stab us in the back like that. I have never been anything but supportive to him. Who took his daughter when her own Mother wouldn't. This is the payback I get. I am so hurt. I realize alot of her letter was bullshit, but someone had to give her the information. I know I didn't and I know my husband didn't,so who is left? I am now sending my next Fuck You to betrayal by so called friends!

Now you see why there is no picture. Kinda hard to come up with a picture for those kinds of things.

Have a good weekend all. Don't forget to let TG know that you played along.

This is my life.

I used to be a grownup. I used to have adult interests. Now I am trapped in a house with preschoolers. This is what my life has been reduced to. Instead of discussing with you the latest episode of Desperate Housewives, I am going to show you the intro to my favorite kid's show. I love this bear. When he dances it makes me laugh. Oh God, I need an adult to talk to.

Things here have been crazy! My friend had to fly to Mexico this weekend for his niece's wedding. ( poor baby. Wish I had to fly to Mexico) Anyway, his parents are too ill to travel so he went to represent the family. His ex decieded to be miserable and refused to take their daughter for the week. This is 16 hours before he is to leave. He was in a panic. To make a long story short, I now have an extra daughter for a week.

On Friday afternoon, I got a call from a Mom. She was supposed to go back to work on Monday. Her daycare plans fell through and she was desperately looking for someone to look after her 10 month old daughter. I now have a 10 month old girl here. She is adorable!

There were two deaths here this weekend. My friend's father passed away on Friday. She had to leave her kids again to fly home. My heart breaks for her. Then the Mother of a friend of ours passed away on Saturday. Cancer is a bitch. No two ways about it.

I hope all is well with everyone else.

FUCK YOU! FRIDAYS

It is that time of the week again. It is FUCK YOU! FRIDAY.

Today's episode is brought to you by idiot politicians. Today's winner is a man who (in my opinion) is a cross between a lawyer and a used car salesman. Yes, todays winner is none other than NDP Leader Jack Layton! This man needs to do some research before he goes anywhere outside of his home. This is the same man who thinks they way to stop terrorism is to sit down to tea with the Taliban.

This week our intrepid leader was at the Manitoba Ag Days in Brandon. The nitwit was giveing a speech to agriculture producers. He was quoted as saying to them "Another important issue is SARS. I was just talking to a cattle producer today who said the situation is worse now than when we were in the middle of SARS". Throughout his speech, he kept referring to SARS. Hello idiot! The issue to cattle producers is not SARS it is BSE!(aka Mad Cow disease) Get your facts before you open your mouth. SARS has not affected cattle. BSE is the threat to cattle. Then Eastern politicians wonder why they are alienating Western voters. This just pisses me off. We all know that most federal politicians believe the world ends in Toronto but can you at least pretend to have an inkling of interest in the issues that affect the rest of us?

So to Mr. Layton for giving us proof once again that eastern politicians do not have a clue about Manitoba, I offer you this week's huge FUCK YOU! If you want to know what FU Fridays are all about, visit the gang and let them know you played.0

IT IS MONDAY AGAIN

Since it is Monday and I have been away for a while, I am going to empty out all the thoughts floating around my little head. Bear with me.

First things first. I would like to offer my condolences to all of Betcha's friends. While I never had the honor of meeting her, I know we read some of the same blogs. I always enjoyed reading her thoughtful comments. Losing someone so young and full of promise is just unfair. May her friends find comfort in their memories of her.

Now onto my bitching. On Friday, it was -48C here. According to a temperature converter I found on the Internet, that would make it -54F. In other words, IT WAS DAMN COLD!!! (Mark, if you still want to live here, you ARE the Lord of the Idiots. I will gladly trade you places). The School Division decided that it was too cold to run the school buses. Their reasoning was, if a bus should break down, it would take 15 - 20 minutes to get another bus there. (remember those times, it is important for later). They feel that is too long to have the students wait on the bus in the cold. It would be too dangerous to have to sit there for that long. IF, we lived in a rural area, I would agree with their reasoning. However, we don't. We live in a city. In the Capital city of the Province I might add. I can poke holes in their thinking. 1. If a bus should break down, the bus will not immediately become cold unless all the windows and doors are left open. The bus will stay warm for a while. The students would be okay for a while. 2. Being in the city, if a replacement bus did take longer to get there, the students could take shelter in any number of offices, stores, churches or community clubs they pass along the way. Sorry that argument doesn't hold water with me. If you need to cancel the buses, then cancel school all together.

Here is where I get royally pissed off. If you are a bus student, Friday was an excused absence for you. If you were not a bus student, you were expected to be at school. (Remember the time limit?) It takes my son 15 - 20 minutes to walk to school from our house. If he didn't go to school it was an unexcused absence for him. How is that fair? 15 - 20 minutes is too long for students to sit on a disabled bus, but not too long for my son to be in the cold. WTF???? It has always been that way, but it just strikes me as unfair. My friend's son lives one street over. He is classified as a bus student, but he never takes the bus, he always walks with my son instead. The Vice Principal called their house and told them that unless the boy had a ride both to and from school, he was not to come to school since there was no bus. I don't have a car, so my son still would have to walk and still have an unexcused absence. It drives me mad!

Thanks for listening to that little rant. My family is sick of hearing me complain about it.

Next up. Here are a few stories about what a bad parent I am. My son has been sick with a cold on and off for about four weeks. I tried to get him into our doctor, but it was impossible. You know how wonderful our medical system is. Anyway, on Wed, I decided that enough was enough and we were going to find him a Walk in Clinic. While we were at it, I had a sore throat I thought I would get checked out too. The usual Clinic we go to was closed for the whole week. Shoot. Okay next plan. The next Clinic I thought of was an out of the way place, not many people knew about. We had never been there, but I know I had seen a sign stating that appointments were not needed. Great except they closed at 5 and it was now 7. Last chance, one more clinic. This clinic was so full people were standing elbow to elbow. My son looked at me and said that he didn't want to wait, he just wanted to go home to bed. So we gave up. I did mention to him that we had passed at least 4 Vet offices. They were all open and didn't look busy. He didn't see the humor in that. On Friday, my one daughter was complaining about an earache just like me, so I took both of them to one of the walk ins we had tried earlier in the week. Luckily, the wait was only an hour so we all go in.

,

Here is where bad parenting came into play. When the doctor saw my son he asked "HE HAS BEEN LIKE THIS FOR HOW LONG?" I guess he was a little more ill than we had figured. He has a throat and sinus infection and is on heavy duty meds. I felt rotten. Poor kid had been sick for so long, I should have taken him in earlier. On the plus side, the boy did tell me that he thought it was just a cold and nothing worse. Bad Parent, Bad Parent.

This next bit is hard for me to talk about. I cannot see the silver lining in this one and I for sure cannot see humor in it. I just have to get it out. Be gentle when you judge me on this one.

My one daughter S is a difficult child. When she was two days old, the nurse was waiting for us at the hospital door. She announced to us " Little Miss has an attitude" Little Miss was only two days old and two months premature. I knew right then, we were screwed. S is described as lively and feisty. She is also stubborn and quick tempered. Lately, things have been getting worse. She has started having accidents and throwing tantrums. Not little tantrums, I mean big 45 - an hour tantrums. She is starting to get violent too. I am sure some of this is brought on by the rotten kid at school that keeps harassing her. The School doesn't see these tantrums so they don't understand what a problem this bullying is causing. I guess they figure if they don't have to deal with it, it is not a problem. Anyway, the last time we took her to the doctor, I told her Dad to tell the Doctor about all this. He didn't see the point, but I made him promise to do it anyway. He did. The Doctor suspected ADD might be the problem. She is not disruptive in the classroom. As a matter of fact, her grades are very good and she is well liked by her teachers. We were referred to a Child and Adolescent Treatment Centre. They have since done an in ital assessment. They have decided that she is Not Add but she does need help. The wait list for help runs about 12 weeks. So we won't get in until Feb or March. In the mean time, they want us to get her assessed by a psychologist. Great. I will do whatever we need. The uh-oh part is that they warned us, it is not covered by the government medicare. The cost to us will be about $500. Okay, that is alot of money, but it needs to be done. When I actually made the appointment, it is not $500 instead it is $1100! Yikes. I don't have that type of money and I am not sure where I will get it from. Something is not right with this program when you have to pay that much for this. It is not something we did because we felt like it. This child needs help that I can't give her. I don't know why she does these things. The last meltdown she had, she tried to hit anyone near her and threatened me with a knife. She is only 9. If we don't get her help now, what will happen in the future to her? I can't help but think there is something that I did wrong to make her this way. Am I that bad of a Mother that I have damaged my daughter in some way? When she says she would be better in foster care than with me, I have to wonder what horrible thing did I do to her? What kind of mother am I ? This is so painful to feel that even your child feels she would be better off away from you. I don't know how to fix it because I don't even know the cause. I feel like my heart is breaking.

Those are the thoughts that are running through my head, and hopefully you now understand where I have been lately. I will try to check in with everyone this week. Take care.

Back To Normal ( or at least what passes for normal around here)

Woo Hoo!! I survived Christmas holidays. It was touch and go for a while there but I squeaked by. I have taken a poll of local parents. We have decieded that two weeks off is way toooo looooonnngggg. One week would be perfect. Okay, having school seven days a week for 10 hours a day would be perfect, but I will take what I can get. Our holidays were topped off with a snowstorm on New Year's Eve. The husband threw his back out shovelling, so our new years consisted of him laying on the couch moaning in pain. Do we know how to ring the new year or what?

I am happy to report that we made it through the holidays without any trips to the emergency room. No broken bones or gopher hole falls this Christmas. That in itself is something to celebrate.

I received the greatest present this year. From my kids, I got two tickets to see the Trailer Park Boys live!! I can't wait! Ooops my white trash roots are showing again. The TPB will be joined by Swollen Members and Helix. I didn't know Helix was even still around. It should be fun. The official countdown has started. THERE ARE NOW 24 DAYS TILL TPB!!!!!!!!!

I hope y'all had a wonderful Christmas and a great start to the new year.

Christmas is coming.... Ready or not

WOW, only 5 more days til Christmas. The pressure is on now.

This week was the school Christmas Concert. You have to love it. The concert this year was a multicultural celebration... or something like that. A comedy of errors is more like it. First of all there are 300 white kids trying to act like they have some sense of rythmn. Face it, they don't! One part of the concert had the kids banging drums to a Kwanzaa song. It would have been really good if they had ANY musical talent. Unfortunetly, one drummer finnished before the singers did, the other three were playing their own songs I think. Then there were the two kids who were trying to keep the beat and almost fell off the stage. For one part of it, they were supposed to sway to the music. Do you remember those desk games people used to have? The game with the silver balls that would knock into each other? That is what these kids looked liked. They were each going opposite directions. It was hilarious! The children were all very proud of themselves. You have to give the wonderful music teacher credit. She did her best with musically challenged white kids. All in all it was a nice evening and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.

With the good always comes the bad. My sweet little girl had an accident at school yesterday. We finally got the bully thing worked out and she goes and hurts herself. I was up to my ears in xmas baking when I got the call. "You had better come to the school right away. We think your daughter has broken her arm.". Wonderful. Off we went. Three cheers for our wonderful medical system. When we arrived at the hospital, we waited for a half an hour before we even spoke to anyone. That was just to get her name on the list. Upon talking to the lady next to us, we knew we were in trouble. Her husband had come into the hospital at 2 am. He was only getting xrays then (15 hours later). The nurse at the desk, suggested we go somewhere else. Then the dilema starts. I didn't want to take her to the Children's hospital. In the paper that morning was a story of how a woman was robbed inside the hospital attached to the children's hospital at knifepoint.( What a great society we live in. I am bleeding profusely from a vital organ but sure take my wallet.) I was considering taking my daughter to the city my parents live in. It is a smaller city about an hour away. Fortunetly, by now, my girl was able to move her elbow more. So we guessed it wasn't broken. Instead, we ended up at a walk in clinic. We only waited for an hour. Not bad. The good news is that her elbow is not broken just a bad sprain. Hooray! No cast for Christmas!

That has been our life in a nutshell. Whew!

WHO ME? NEVER

You're Totally Sarcastic
You sarcastic? Never! You're as sweet as a baby bunny. Seriously, though, you have a sharp tongue - and you aren't afraid to use it. And if people are too wimpy to deal with your attitutde, then too bad. So sad.

FUCK YOU! FRIDAYS

I was in a such a good mood. Was being the key word there. This week, I had a friend come and visit me. I hadn't seen her in almost 10 years. I was a little nervous about seeing her again. We had lost touch and only reconnected this summer. It was kind of like inviting a stranger over. About 2 minutes after she got here we picked up where we left off. It was great seeing her again. I got to meet her two children. They were adorable. The little boy walked in the house and started talking and didn't stop. When I was telling my husband about it, he said" He is just his Mom isn't he". That visit made me so happy! I am looking forward to seeing them again. Next time I hope to meet her husband. I knew her ex husband from high school. She tells me her new husband is completely different. That is wonderful too.

I am almost finnished my xmas cards, my daughter's school pictures finally came, my daughter finnished 6th in her Provincial Bowling Tournament,Jack and Mistify got engaged, and I am almost done my shopping. (Honkie, I like the idea of gift cards for everyone). I was flying high. Everything was going great. I should have known it wouldn't last.

Then things started to go wrong. First I went to the store to buy milk. The Four litre jug slipped out of my hands and hit the floor. I don't know if you have ever tried this but when this milk jug hits the floor from a distance, it doesn't just break..... it explodes!! It exploded everywhere. It went all over me and my daughter and up the drink cooler. My daughter is screaming " It is in my eyes! I can't see!" Nothing like drawing attention to us. Do you think this could happen in a small corner of the store? Not a chance. This is right in front of the cashier. How embarrassing. When I tried to pick up the jug, it had split down the side and gushed everywhere. Nothing like making things worse. Then I took my daughters to Timmies for a hot chocolate and a donut. When my daughter was trying to get into the car she dropped her donut in a puddle. My week went downhill from there.

My good friend sent me an email at 2Am to say her Dad had a blood clot in his leg that has moved to this lungs. She was leaving immediately for Arizona. It doesn't sound good. I am so worried for her. Either way it is going to suck for her. Either her Dad doesn't make it till Xmas or he does and she misses Xmas with her kids. I hope her Dad recovers. Then my other friend's son was waiting for me at school to telll me his Grandma had a heartattack last night. His Dad spent the night at the hospital. She is still alive, but that is all I know right now. Serious illness is terrible anytime of the year but it really bites during Xmas.

My daughter has been having a hard time at school lately. There is a boy in her class she is really scared of. He has threatened to bring a knife to school to use on her. ( Did I mention they are 9?) He keeps making threatening motions to her. He pushes her into walls. She has a bruise on her stomach and a scrape on her knee from him. I have complained to the teacher, principal and guidance cousellor. So far nothing has happened and I don't hold any hope it will. They have a Safe School program. It is supposed to prevent bullying. Basically it is lip service provided by left wing moonbats. It is great in theroy, but they never put it into action. If they had, when this boy threatened my daughter with a knife, the Social Worker, Parents and Police should have been involved. Never happened. Now I have to pull my daughter out of bed screaming every morning. She is terrified to go to school. Thank God there is only 6 days left til Xmas break. When I spoke to the teacher, she told me my daughter retailiates with the threat that she will get her brother to come to school and beat up the boy. First of all, that wouldn't happen second of all, what do you expect her to do? She is terrified and the school won't protect her. She needs to do something to make her feel safer. I am at a loss here.

Basically, I need to offer the whole world a big FU! For now, I will settle for sending it to the item that started it all...Milk

IT IS ALMOST CHRISTMAS TIME AGAIN. I WAS SENT THIS IN AN EMAIL TODAY. IT BROUGHT TEARS TO MY EYES. I HOPE YOU WILL ALL PASS IT ON AND PLEASE REMEMBER ALL OF OUR TROOPS STATIONED FAR AWAY FROM HOME THIS CHRISTMAS SEASON. MAY GOD BRING THEM ALL HOME SAFE AND SOUND! GOD BLESS THEM ONE AND ALL.

The Night Before Christmas

T'was the night before Christmas,

He lived all alone,

In a one bedroom house,

Made of plaster and stone.

I had come down the chimney,

With presents to give,

And to see just who,

In this home did live.

I looked all about,

A strange sight I did see,

No tinsel, no presents,

Not even a tree.

No stocking by the mantle,

Just boots filled with sand,

On the wall hung pictures,

Of far distant lands.

With medals and badges,

Awards of all kinds,

A sober thought,

Came through my mind.

For this house was different,

It was dark and dreary,

I found the home of a soldier,

Once I could see clearly.

The soldier lay sleeping,

Silent, alone,

Curled up on the floor,

In this one bedroom home.

The face was so gentle,

The room in such disorder,

Not how I pictured,

A Canadian soldier.

Was this the hero,

Of whom I'd just read?,

Curled up on a poncho,

The floor for a bed?

I realized the families,

That I saw this night,

Owed their lives to these soldiers,

Who were willing to fight.

Soon round the world,

The children would play,

And grownups would celebrate,

A bright Christmas day.

They all enjoyed freedom,

Each month of the year,

Because of the soldiers,

Like the one lying here.

I couldn't help wonder,

How many lay alone,

On a cold Christmas eve,

In a land far from home.

The very thought brought,

A tear to my eye,

I dropped to my knees,

And started to cry.

The soldier awakened,

And I heard a rough voice,

Santa, don't cry,

This life is my choice.

I fight for freedom,

I don't ask for more,

My life is my god,

My country, my corps."

The soldier rolled over,

And drifted to sleep,

I couldn't control it,

I continued to weep.

I kept watch for hours,

So silent and still,

And we both shivered,

From the cold night's chill.

I didn't want to leave,

On that cold, dark night,

This guardian of honour,

So willing to fight.

Then the soldier rolled over,

With a voice, soft and pure,

Whispered, "carry on Santa,

It's Christmas day, all is secure."

One look at my watch,

And I knew he was right,

Merry Christmas my friend,

And to all a good night."

This poem was written by a peace keeping soldier stationed overseas. The following is his request. I think it is reasonable. PLEASE. Would you do me the kind favour of sending this to as many people as you can? Christmas will be coming soon and some credit is due to our Canadian service men and women for our being able tocelebrate these festivities. Let's try in this small way to pay atiny bit of what we owe. Make people stop and think of our heroes, living and dead, who sacrificed themselves for us. Please, do your small part to plant this small seed.

I had a great post ready for Fuck You Fridays. Now I have to change it slightly. FUCK YOU TO BLOGGER AND BLOGGER BETA!!!!! It won't let me add a picture and it won't let me add anything to my sidebar! It pisses me off. I am sorry I switched to beta. It is nothing but a huge pain in the ass.

I will have to continue without a picture. You will have to use your imagination.

My original fuck you was instant. As soon as I read the front page of our local newspaper. There on the front page was a story that made my blood boil. One of our brave boys (and girls) in blue was shot yesterday in the line of duty. There is no update to his status. I am hoping and praying it is not serious. These brave people put their lives on the line day after day. They deal with the lowest level of humanity. They see things that would make the rest of sick. Just because they are our protectors, people want to see them hurt. The police services do the hard work for little or no appreciation.

My huge Fuck you is sent to the scum that sent three of these brave officers to the hospital. There is a hot spot in hell reserved for people like that.

I am asking you all pray for these brave officers. Pray for their health and safety.

I hope yall have a safe and wonderful weekend. Now fuck off!

Monday Morning

Another busy weekend has past bringing us closer and closer to Christmas. My mind is on Christmas alot lately. This weekend was filled with Christmas activities. I finnished setting up my tree. It is fake. I know that will disgust some people but that is the way it is. Frankly, the smell of Christmas trees and cat urine are the same to me. I now have a tree that is prelit. Thank God! I hate putting the lights on the tree. I have three strands of lights. When tested individually, they work. When tested together they work. Place them on the tree, they stop working. This is the point where I start kicking the tree across the room and my family disappears. This year, the tree took no time at all to put up. I love those prelit trees. One less aggravation! The person who created them is a hero to me.

The husband's Christmas party was Saturday night. It wasn't as bad as I expected. The two couples I know the best, were not going so I was a little worried how I was going to make small talk with people I don't know and don't care about for three to four hours. Turns out, we sat at a table with three great couples. Two are grandparents and the other couple is younger than me and dating. Really nice people.

Sunday my daughter's school choir was performing in the division " Annual Candle Light Christmas Choir Concert" Try saying that three times fast. I don't understand why they call it candle light. There wasn't a candle in the building. The senior choir was fantastic. They had a male and female soloist. wow! I always admire people who can sing. In my family, they consider it my gift if I DON'T sing Happy Birthday to them. I guess we are lucky here. It is still called a Christmas Choir concert. They sang traditional Christmas carols. My daughters have a Christmas concert and the school puts up a Christmas tree and Christmas decorations. My son's school is a little more ethnically diverse. They don't call the band concert a Christmas band concert, but the spirit is still there. There are many choruses of Merry Christmas heard too. My son's school does a good job of incorporating all traditions in both the concert and their daily school activities.

The holiday visiting has begun. Now I really have to get off my butt and do a good cleaning in my house. I guess I should get off here and start. Have a good week all!

FUCK YOU FRIDAYS!

Fuck you fridays are here again! Thank god because I have alot of them to send out this week.

Let's start with the weather, shall we. It has been hovering around ............(-32C )this week. Like a true Canadian, I don't mind the two feet of snow that fell. What I hate is the cold. It is inhumane to expect people to go outside when it is that cold. Unless we begin to hiberate (don't think it hasn't crossed my mind), or suddenly grow a bear coat, how can we survive the cold?

So my first fuck you is sent out to cold weather! FUCK YOU!

This brings me to my next Fuck You! I have developed a wonderful headcold. I cannot breathe. I hate that. I am quickly running out of Kleenex and it is too cold to walk to the store. Fuck You cold season

My next one is sent out to mice! In case I have never mentioned it before, I am scared of mice. Mickey may be cute, I don't want to live with him! I went out one night. When I got home, the kids met me at the door and announced the cat had caught a mouse. At first I thought " at least it is better than last winter". Last winter our cat caught a mouse and deposited it in the middle of the living room. Great, except we had company at the time. I never understood what the problem was. They got a floor show. Funny, they never came back..... I digress. Apparently, the cat would catch the mouse, run into MY bedroom and let it go. Then she would chase it more. Damn it cat! Just catch it and kill it already. Get it out of my bedroom!!!!! I knew I wouldn't sleep until it was caught. The good news was it made me quickly clean up under my bed so the cat had a clear shot at the mouse. ( I had been putting off that job for a while anyway. I also spent the next day cleaning out my closet for the same reason. At least the mouse was motivating). I had just climbed into bed and settled in for the night, when there was a lound bang. The cat was off again in hot pursuit. This time she corned the mouse in an old gym bag. I made my husband get dressed and take the whole thing out of the house. I told him, I wouldn't get any sleep if he didn't. If I didn't get any sleep, neither would he. Between the husband and the cat, the mouse has left this world. RIP little mouse. Next time stay out of my house! So here is my FUCK YOU to mice!

I have a few more, but I will save them for next week. I hope everyone has a great weekend and a happy FUCK YOU FRIDAY!!
